Chief Financial Officer

Betty Soares is Chief Financial Officer of Proactive Investors with over 20 years of proven leadership backed by expertise in finance for reporting issuers and growth companies. She has extensive experience in financing, M&A, capital structure, capital allocation strategy, re-organizational and transformation leadership.  More notably, she contributed as a senior executive to revenue growth from $50M to $2B of a Canadian TSX/NYSE-listed mining company and has served as Chief Financial Officer in the energy sector and at one of Canada’s Regional Innovation Centres. Over the last 20 years she has held various executive level positions including Chief Financial Officer, Vice President Enterprise Performance Management and Chief Accounting Officer. She has also consulted within the mining, real estate and technology industries.  Ms. Soares has also served on various non-for-profit Committees and Board of Directors. She holds a Bachelor of Administration (Honours) from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Global Executive MBA candidate from the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto and SDA Bocconi School of Management of Bocconi University of Milan, Italy.  Ms. Soares is also a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.
